It’s been a week that is amazing! The Great College Admissions Scandal of 2019 broke this morning — the annual amount of admission choices — and rocks on . A college that is historic confidential thread, now approaching 3,000 (!) articles, has examined every aspect with this ‘pay to relax and play’ fiasco, from both a parent’s and student’s perspective.
Needless to say the media are having a field day with all of this, too. In fact, it’s unusual that one may select a news site, nevertheless, without seeing some kind of tale for this scandal. Pupils are suing universities, moms and dads are suing colleges, universities are rescinding admissions, etc. It is a higher education three-ring circus.
Plus, the timing could not be much more perfect, or awful, according to which part you are on. In a few days, the Ivy League springtime choices can come out, along side those of other alleged ‘elite’ schools. These ‘elites’ are in the scandal’s bullseye. Hence, one feasible metaphor for in a few days’s pending decisions may be compared to a rocket on the launch pad along with its machines pre-ignited, ready for the shackles keeping it back again to launch and permit liftoff.
